How do I know which dog trainer is right for me?

Look for reputable certifications, a commitment to ongoing education, and membership of a professional organization such as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Also, APDT has great advice on how to choose a trainer.

My dog is barking, lunging, or growling at dogs/people. What should I do?

Such ugly displays can be scary (and embarrassing), but remember that your four-legged family member is an animal, not a person. He isn’t acting this way from spite or obstinacy. Something is causing his reaction, most likely fear, under-socialization, or barrier frustration. Give us a call and scheduled your Initial Consultation so we may help identify what is causing the behavior and ultimately help you make some changes!

Do you offer a referral program?

Yes! Your referrals are a huge honor…and remember, I am a rewards-based trainer! It would be my pleasure to provide a $10 referral credit towards your next visit (payable upon booking of referred client). Thank you, in advance, for your referral.

What types of methods, tools, philosophies, disciplines, etc. will be used with my dog?

Great question! You should always know what type of training you are jumping into! A rewards-based philosophy will be used without any harsh punishments, intimidation or compulsion-based techniques. You can read more about my experience, approach and professional training awards and credentials here. Under no circumstances will a choke, prong, pinch or shock collar be used on your pet at any time (or any other form of compulsion or intimidation).
