Outdoor Adventures Day Training Program

What Is It?

A signature service and rather popular program designed to aid you in achieving your individual training goals even while you are away at work! This In-Home Day Training Program gets your dog outdoors for a 1×1 training session to build new skills or solidify and cement previously learned behavior. The visit will last approximately 30 minutes and will start with a nice long walk to potty and relax. A series of short, but intense training, socialization and/or play sessions will follow. Ultimately, the program serves to provide dogs with a positive way to channel their energy so owners may enjoy a happy, balanced and relaxed dog upon their return from work. The Outdoor Adventure Program benefits all dogs, but is particularly useful for the special-needs or difficult dog that still needs some structured work throughout the day.

“Most behavior problems in the domestic dog stem from a lack of physical and/or mental stimulation.”
– Kimberly Burgan, CPDT-KA

Enjoy peace of mind knowing that a skilled canine professional is handling your family pet and providing him an opportunity to burn some energy, use his mind, and experience new things all within a structured capacity that does not lend to any accidental reinforcement of any undesirable behaviors. Oh, and a mid-day potty break is always a bonus!

Getting Started

1.

If you have not done so already, call to schedule your Initial Consultation (unless already completed in the past). This will give you a chance to "meet the trainer" (you should always have some warm fuzzies when you leave your pet in another's care!) and gives me a chance to discuss any specific behavior and/or training goals. This session occurs in the home where the Outdoor Adventures will take place and allows me to get a feel for how you lead your pack. We'll also cover some basic behavior programs to get you started off on the right paw! Diet and Leadership will be discussed to ensure healthy relationships within the home and ultimately drive success in any type of training program. Lastly, we'll cover the logistics on entry to your home, should you plan to be away when your pup's adventure occurs.

2.

Next, we'll schedule your dates for your 5-Pack or 10-Pack of Adventures! Outdoor Adventures are offered Tuesday – Friday (depending on your area) and will occur between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. Depending on your particular needs, Adventures will be scheduled on a once-a-week or twice-a-week basis. If needed, you may customize your timeframe as well (i.e. an owner that works the late shift may prefer that Fido's potty break and training session occurs later in the day as opposed to earlier). The lunchtime spot is often popular.

3.

Visit our Registration Page to prepay for your Outdoor Adventure Program. You will receive an email to confirm your full registration. Weekly reminders will keep you and your pup on track!

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the session last? The total visit will last approximately 30 minutes per dog enrolled.

Do I need to provide you with anything? I will ask that you have a few items ready for use for your dog. These items include a properly fitted Martingale/No-Slip Collar along with a variety of prepared treats to be used during training. Please also provide a few of your dog's favorite toys.

What if I need to cancel my Outdoor Adventure? A 48 hour cancellation notice is requested in order to avoid a full-charge of same day cancellation.

How do I know what my dog is doing? A daily report card will be provided so you are always aware of what your dog is doing and how she might be progressing. You are encouraged to call with questions, concerns or requests to hone in on a specific behavior, as different needs develop at different stages of our lives. Regular, monthly private lessons are recommended so that open lines of communication between owner and trainer may develop resulting in a lifetime of rewarding teamwork and success!
